THOMAS ELLERY WWII Army Veteran and longtime member of the Lions Clubs Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Resident of Fenelon Falls, ON, formerly of Toronto. Beloved husband of the late Lily Ellery, nee Foster. Loving father of Brian (Peggy), Gary (Helen), Nancy, Heather Bennett (Todd) and Tricia Bennett (Terry). Grandpa Tom will be sadly missed by Garnet (Val), Katie, Darren, Drew (Connie), Derek (Julie), Lindsay Spittel (Scott), Warren Busato (Michelle), Philip Busato, Hilary, Sydney, Mitchell, Brendan Bennett and his great-grandchildren Grace, Maya, Finn, Foster, Noah and Cohen. Dear brother of Corrine Jessiman (the late Bruce), David (Doreen), the late Ross (Nora) and brother-in-law of Audrey Eames, Ronald Foster, Doug Foster (Gwyn), Garnet Foster and the late Jack Eames, Maureen, Sharon and Cynthia deNottbeck. Uncle Tom will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and the their extended families. The family would like to thank the staff of Ross Memorial Hospital, PRHC and Toronto General Hospital for their care and compassion and a special thank you to Dr. B. Lauwers and Dr. D. McDonald at Ross for their extraordinary care of Dad. In keeping with Tom's wishes there will be a Celebration of his Life held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 238 (23 Veterans Way, Fenelon Falls, ON.) In memory of Tom, donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterborough Cremation Services (Monaghan at Arndon), 705-740-0404.
