CHESTER B. 'Tiny' ANEAR
1921 - 2013
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the death of Chester B. Anear which occurred at St. Paul's Hospital on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Ches is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; daughter Kelly (Murray) Gray and son Todd (Ruthanne Bell); grandchildren Trevor (Kristy), Shantell (Marc Gareau), and Rachel Gray and Connor Anear; sister Lois (Anear) Randall and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ches was born in Rivers, Manitoba on December 26, 1921. In 1928 he moved with his family to Prince Albert where he grew up and took his schooling. In 1951 he met Ruth Dowling and they were married on July 22, 1952. They lived in Prince Albert until 1965 when they relocated to Saskatoon which became their home until the present day. Ches served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1945. He was a firefighter and draftsman in Prince Albert and later a draftsman with the Federal Department of Public Works in Saskatoon where he worked for 25 years until his retirement. He was an avid radio control builder, flyer, and member of the Hub City Radio Control Club. In his later years Ches enjoyed painting, reading, and watching old classic movies. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving family and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home (4th Ave. & 25th St.). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home (244-5577).
