Nora, age 90, passed away peacefully at St. Ann's Home on Tuesday, December 31st, 2013. She is dearly loved and remembered by her husband of 20 years, Emmanuel; her only daughter, Lynn (Kelvin) Blair; three grandchildren, Colin Blair, Wendy (Mark) Brabant, and Sean Blair; two great- grandchildren, Bridgit and Ethan; stepchildren, Mary Rose Stang; Gloria (Mo) Alain, Tarcy (Bev) Stang, Tim (Vivian) Stang, Terrence Stang; six step-grandchildren, Ben (Brianna), Jonah, Leigh(Danette), Heath (Ziod), Jessica and Jasmin Stang; three step- great-grandchildren, Braden, Kennedy and Julia. She is also survived by one brother, Maurice Turcotte; three sisters, Joanne Roach, Therese Bishop, Rose Binnie; sister- in-law, Margaret Turcotte and brother-in-law, Nick Kaminski; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 1st husband Jim Smith (1988); her parents, Lezime Turcotte and Mary LeBlanc; brothers, Frank (May), Laurence, and Phillip; sisters, Catherine (Albert) Heidt, Olive (Leo) Levesque, Florence Kaminski , Charlotte Turcotte; brothers in law, Ross Roach, Sonny Bishop and Don Binnie. Nora was born in Prince Albert on October 16th, 1923. She worked at the DVA Hospital in Saskatoon during the Second World War and later worked in the dietary kitchen at the Sanitorium. Nora was a breast cancer survivor for 37 years. Mom lived her life with: laughter, music, dancing, and love of family and friends. If you needed a helping hand she was there, if you needed a hug she was there. She had many challenges in her life over 90 years and faced them all with courage, faith, dignity, respect and love. No mountain was insurmountable for her as she faced everything in her life head on until the end. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her as she was the sunshine on a cloudy day. The Vigil for Nora will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5th at the Chapel at St. Ann's Home (2910 Louise Street). The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 6th at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Macklin with Rev. Father Bill Stang, OMI as the celebrant. Following the reception, the Rite of Committal will take place at the St. Elizabeth's Parish Cemetery at Primate, SK.
