George Giesbrecht
1947 - 2014
George was born to Jacob and Helena Giesbrecht in Warman, Sask. He grew up just a mile east of Warman. In 1962 Mom and Dad moved to Prespatou, B.C. Dad died in 1975, but mom and George stayed there until 1979, when he moved back to Hague, Sask. It was there that George started going to Waldheim where he worked in the Menno Home shop two times a week. He later on started staying there for the week and came home for the weekends. They lived in Hague for about a year, when they got a chance to move into the low rentals in Warman and he stayed in Waldheim for 20 some years. When he started needing more care we found Shepherd's Villa in Hepburn where they had 24 hour care. He lived there for about 5 years. George passed away at St. Paul's Hospital on January 28, 2014 at the age of 66 years. He leaves to mourn his passing 5 brothers and 6 sisters, the staff at Shepherd's Villa and many friends. May he rest in peace. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at 2 pm at the Osler Mennonite Church. Arrangements entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME(306-934-4888).
