HELEN ZERR (nee Weisbeck)
February 13, 1940 - May 17, 2014
After a one year struggle with cancer, Helen succumbed to her illness on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Royal University Hospital. Helen is survived by her husband Bill; son Brian; and two brothers Roy (Cora) Weisbeck and Henry (Marcella) Weisbeck. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Catherine (Schnurr) Weisbeck; her in-laws Jacob and Elizabeth (Boehm) Zerr; her two children Robert and Donna Zerr; and two nieces Sandra Weisbeck and Barbara Supynuk. Helen was born on the farm near Kenaston, SK. She started her education in a rural school called Sid. She moved with her family to Saskatoon and attended Sion and Mayfair schools. With her family, she moved to Regina, attended Scott Collegiate and later Business College. She was employed with SaskTel for 10 years. Helen and Bill were married in 1964 and made their home in Saskatoon. Helen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, CWL, Tops Club, Red Hat Society and volunteered with Special Olympics. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 222 Willow Street, Saskatoon, celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Ron Beechinor. Rite of Committal in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery will follow. Instead of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cosmopolitan Industries or Saskatoon Special Olympics.
