Pryor, Sidney
Dad passed away peacefully in Saskatoon on June 1, 2012 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his wife Sadie, sister Nell Lahoda and brothers John, Bob and Rich. Sid will be lovingly remembered by brother Manny, sister-in-law Edith Pryor, children Judy Pryor and Paul (Sandra), grandchildren Murray (Trinda), Craig (Tracy), James Olorenshaw (Norma-Jean), Sue Olorenshaw and Daniel and great grandchildren Kayleigh Batten and Bradley Olorenshaw, Eric Pryor, Ryan Pryor and Sadie Pryor. Sid was born at the family farm, a mile west of Dundurn on August 31, 1920. He joined the Army in Ontario in 1941 and married Sadie on November 14, 1941. After the war Dad remained in the Army and moved his family back to Dundurn. In 1953 Dad was posted to Whitehorse, Yukon and worked as an Engineer doing maintenance on the Alaska Highway until 1955 when he left the Army and returned to Dundurn. Dad was a Plumber at the Dundurn Army Camp until her retired. Dad was a very active member of the community; he served as Mayor of Dundurn in the 1960s and was instrumental in getting sewer and water to Dundurn. He was very active with the United Church for many years and was on the Dundurn School Board for some time. Dad's favorite hobbies were gardening, building and fixing things, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and repairing furnaces. Our thanks to the Royal University Hospital and Parkridge Centre for their compassionate care of Dad this last while. The Funeral Service will be
held at the Dundurn United Church on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire memorial contributions
may be directed to the charity of one's
