Alan C. Dippel of Lake Ariel died Thursday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. His wife of 30 years is the former Theresa Santulli.

Born in Scranton, son of Carl and Eleanor Griffin Dippel of Gouldsboro, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1967; and Johnson Technical School. Before retirement, he was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot for 30 years. He was a member of St. Thomas More/St. Mary's Parish Community and the VFW. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970 in the 1st Air Cavalry where he earned an Air Medal.
Also surviving are a daughter, Stacy Dippel, Lake Ariel; a sister, Linda Frank and husband, Bob, Gouldsboro; and grandchildren, Parker and Jenessa.
Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Friends may call Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m., in the James Wilson Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel.
