Bonnie L. Murphey Gaughan, 65, of Scranton, died Friday morning after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer at Commonwealth Hospice in Scranton surrounded by her loving family.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elva Foster Murphey. She was a graduate of Palmerton High School and the Allentown Business School. She was a past member of the Lutheran Church of Palmerton. Before retirement, she was employed by Sallie Mae Financial.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Walck and fiancé, Robert Rondomanski, of Dunmore; son, Scott Walck and wife, Linda, of Lake Ariel; grandchildren, Scott, Bailey, Dylan and Julien Walck; Alyssa Kilbourn and Riley Giacobbe; two nieces; two nephews; and brother, Michael Murphey and wife, Martha, Pensacola, Fla.
One of Bonnie's greatest loves were her four grandsons. Whether she was cheering them on playing sports or cooking them a Sunday dinner; time together was all she needed. There wasn't a time they didn't bring a smile to one another's faces even when the boys insisted on "autographing" her head when she lost her hair from chemo. She will forever live on in the hearts of her prince, her bails, her Dinny and her Hookie.
Special thanks to Commonwealth Hospice, especially Cathy Chivir and Dr. Linda Barrasse, also Depietro's Pharmacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
She will be reunited with her beloved companion, Seamus, her yellow lab, at the rainbow bridge.
Visitation will take place on Monday at 6 to 8 p.m.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home, 301 Chestnut St., Dunmore.
