Donald D. Thomas, 87, of Scranton, died Tuesday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a brief illness. He was the widower of the former Dorothy E. Werner, who died April 7. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on April 3.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas, he was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He served during World War II with the Marines Corps and was a member of VFW Post 7069. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Peter Williamson Lodge 323. Before retirement, he was employed by Lockheed Martin.

Surviving are two nieces.

Graveside services with military honors were held in Fairview Memorial Park with services by the Rev. Harrison Putnam, pastor of Trinity Church of Christ.
