Dorothy Jane Bieri of Scranton died Thursday at the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Harold Anthony Bieri, who died in 2001.

Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Kern Miller, she was a graduate of Kensington High School, Philadelphia.

Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was at her happiest surrounded by her loving family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.

Surviving are two sons, Gregg Bieri and wife, Phyllis, Bailey, Colo.; and David and wife, Lisa, Scranton; a daughter, Jane Abourezk and husband, Charles, Centerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Steven Bieri, Kevin Bieri, Nicole Bieri, Dante Bieri and Matthew Abourezk; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine, and Lucille; and two brothers, George and Raymond.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave. Entombment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

No public calling hours are scheduled.
