Frank M. "Butch" Marcinek, died Thursday morning at Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. His widow is the former Frances Berardi. They were married May 19, 1956.

Born in Jessup, son of the late Joseph and Ann Sopek Marcinek, he attended Jessup schools, and was a graduate of Jessup High School.

He also attended Johnson School, where he studied drafting. Before retirement, he was employed for 29 years by Consolidated Molded Products in Scranton and Southern Tier in Binghamton, N.Y. After retirement, he worked for Rabel Distributors in Peckville, and also read electric meters for Blakely Borough. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict for four years, and worked in the Pentagon as a cartographer, with the rank of Chief Naval Officer and Officer of Naval Intelligence.

He loved his family, friends and grandchildren, Erica, Bryan and Nicole, and was always more than willing to help anyone in any way that he could.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Joseph, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Michael, at home; a daughter, Ann Marie Rodarte and husband, Daniel, Pacific Palisades, Calif.; three grandchildren, Erica, Bryan and Nicole Rodarte; a brother, Gerry Marcinek, Jessup; nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were an infant son, Thomas, in 1963; brothers, Joseph and Andrew Marcinek; and sisters, Mary Reddington and Ann Langan.

The funeral will be Monday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:15 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow Street, Peckville. Interment will be at St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, Montdale.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
