Geoffrey M. O'Hora, 66, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Thursday in the VNA Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. His wife of 31 years is the former Cheryl Wilson.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Walter F. and Betty Fetzer O'Hora, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and earned an associate degree from Lackawanna Junior College. He served with the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the men's Wednesday night golf league at Pine Hills Country Club. Before retirement, he was a designer for 31 years for CECO Associates Inc.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his grandchildren and they brought him great joy.

Also surviving are a two sons, Robert Edsell and companion, Jill DeFazio, Moosic; and Brian Edsell and wife, Kimberly, Avon, Ohio; a brother, John Kevin O'Hora and wife, Christina, Scranton; a sister, Karen Cimino and husband, Joseph, Moscow; five grandchildren, Teagan, Brody, Mollie, Christopher and Samantha Edsell; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas E. O'Hora and Stephen O'Hora; father-in-law and best buddy, Jack Wilson, on Feb. 24.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Dr. Stuart Thomas Wilson, interim pastor of Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
