Gesto L. Possanza, 86, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Olyphant, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 1, 2014. He was the son of the late Luigi and Josephine Pacini Possanza, and was also preceded by his wife, Ann Possanza.

Gesto served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific, was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, hiking and nature in general. He was an active member of the VFW in his home state of Pennsylvania and worshipped with his son and family at Church of the Ascension. He was a devoted father and husband who loved his family more than anything.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Ronald J. Possanza and his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Joanne Castanzo and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Rachel M. Possanza, Genevieve A. Possanza, Ronald L. Possanza, Jason Provinzano and Ryan Provinzano; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kiersten and Sophia.

A Mass will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant, Pa. Local arrangements, Margotta Funeral Homes, Jessup and Peckville.
