John Gerald (Jerry) Wasley, 69, of Archbald, died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the husband of Patricia Mihalik Wasley. They were married for 48 years.

Born in Newark, N.J., on Jan. 30, 1945, son of the late Thomas and Helen (Trently) Wasley, John was a member of Christ the King Parish, Archbald. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was educated by the Navy in X-ray technology at Bethesda Naval Hospital, and was retired from the VA Hospital, Plains Twp. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and Archbald Council and Assembly, and was a charter member of the Eynon-Archbald Lions Club.

He enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League baseball and basketball, and loved the L.A. Dodgers and Boston Red Sox.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin and wife, Shana, Salem, N.H.; and Keith and wife, Cindy, Mountaintop; a daughter, who was his pride and joy, Kimberly Wasley, Archbald; a sister, Mary Helen and husband, Joe Kobrick, Throop; four grandchildren, Isabelle Grace, Bryn Marie, Owen John and Eve Sophia; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and William.

The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment, St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Archbald.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m.
