John Robert Green, 67, of Yardley, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pauline; his brother, Joseph; and his best friend, Buddy.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sister, Mary Hannings and husband, Colin; his sister-in-law, Marilyn; his son, John P. Green; his daughter, Kate Wilson and husband, Kevin; his beloved grandsons, Jimmy, Sam and Teddy; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Scranton, "Jack" excelled at school and work, graduating with honors from Benton Township High School and receiving a congressional nomination for West Point Academy. He graduated from Penn State University and served in the Army Corps of Engineers, attaining the rank of captain. He worked as a chemical engineer for Mobil Oil, retiring as VP of Licensing and Technology. During his career he received multiple patents for his work. John was active in coaching youth sports and enjoyed camping, skiing, Penn State football and the Phillies.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 S. Delaware Avenue (River Road), Yardley, Pa., where friends may call from 1 p.m. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville, Pa.
