Born April 6, 1962, Lynn Pensak, Pleasant Gap, Pa., died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center at State College, after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Her parents, Ray and Dorothy Orasin, reside in Forest City. She graduated from Forest City Regional Schools and Penn State University with a degree in broadcasting. She also attended the University of Manchester, England, in their foreign exchange program.

In 1988, she married David Pensak. The couple resided in Pleasant Gap.

They are the proud parents of two sons, Garrett and Mitchell, both at home. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Anthony Febbo, Olyphant. Lynn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She was employed by the Bellefonte Area School District as the middle school guidance secretary. She served on several booster clubs for her sons' sport teams and was an active volunteer for many of their activities. The theater was her passion, however, and she spent several years assisting with the Bellefonte Middle School Drama Club.

Lynn and her family would like to thank family and friends, and especially the Bellefonte Area School District family for their continuous support and prayers.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St. Bellefonte, with Father George Jakopac as celebrant. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

At Lynn's request, no flowers are to be sent to the services, and in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Arts and Band programs at Bellefonte Area School District, 318 N. Allegheny St., Bellefonte, PA 16823.
