Raymond L. Kimble, 83, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at Commonwealth Hospice in Scranton. He was the husband of Marina Dooley Kimble for nearly 60 years.

He was a graduate of Thompson High School, Thompson, and received a bachelor's degree from Mansfield State College, a master's degree from the State University of New York, Cortland, and his doctorate of education from Arizona State University. He taught at Wichita State University, the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, and retired after 20 years from the University of Scranton.
Also surviving are his daughters, Rayleen Beckwith, Clarks Summit; and Lori Lucero, Pueblo, Colo.; grandchildren, Shayna and Keelin Beckwith, Ariel and Kyle Stewart, Jamie, Aaron and David Kimble, and Vanessa Lucero; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Kimble.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. in Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna. Burial, private, in Evergreen Cemetery.
