Stephen G. Martin, 67, of Covington Twp., died Saturday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He and his wife, the former Jeanette Menze, celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary July 19.

Born in Duryea, son of the late George and Anna Danko Martin, he was a graduate of Northeast High School, class of 1965. He served in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver.
Also surviving are daughters, Karen Simyan and her husband, John, Covington Twp.; and Renee Martin, Roswell, N.M.; sons, Brian Dierks and his wife, Sheila, Stienville; Eric Dierks and his wife, Barbara, Forest City; and Steven Dierks, Covington Twp.; grandsons, Blake and Evan Dierks and Andrew Simyan; a brother, George Martin and his wife, Eileen, Avoca; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sister Georgeann Martin, SSCM.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
