Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Doris Huggler Winters. He grew up in Ransom, Pa., where he was very athletic and loved physical sports, including football and basketball, with his also-invincible cousins, Dale and Kevin. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran.
He worked at Procter & Gamble, Mehoopany, for 14 years. Since 2008, he was employed by Step-by-Step as a residential program worker at a local group home. Todd was loved by his lady residents. He often initiated activities above and beyond the scope of the job, such as music, and visiting his family pets, much to the ladies' delight.
Survivors include his wife and caregiver, Pauline Tedesco Winters; daughter, Nicole Winters of Spokane, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Chris, and treasured grandson, Charlie Ray Teachworth of Lancaster, Pa.; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Dale Kresge of York, Pa.; brother-in-law, Rex Richards of Cherryville, Pa.; and Todd's second mom, Aunt Laura Pasternak, Ransom, Pa.; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many loving Tedesco family in-laws. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Richards.
Todd was an avid reader, had amazing memory retention, enjoyed sports, running, leading Bible study and his furry sons, Wonderdog and Bubba, as well as the parade of doggie "campers" he and Pauline entertained. He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. Later in life, he realized how truly fulfilled life could be with Jesus at the center. He then devoted his time and energy to learning more about God's love and sharing it and the gift of forgiveness of sin and eternal life with those he met. His kind gentle spirit and keen sense of humor will be missed by those who knew him.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at Free Bible Church, 431 Carbondale Road, South Abington Twp., Pa. Interment will take place in Union Dale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
