Victor Emmanuel DeLuca, 90, of Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp. He is survived by his wife, the former Nora Price, with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage on April 4.

Born on Jan. 27, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Archie and Theresa Stanziale DeLuca, Vic attended G.A.R. Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, and left to enlist in the Army Air Force, serving four years during World War II in England, France and Germany. He was part of the D-Day invasion.

Victor met and married his bride, Nora Price, in Shrewsbury, England, during the war. After the war, he returned to school, and received his high school diploma.

Victor liked to say, "He was a man of few words." He enjoyed his garden, cooking, fishing and playing cards, spending many nights at the kitchen table playing games of "Synch" with his family. Vic treated everyone the same - fairly.

Also surviving are sons, Robert and Victor, Phoenix, Ariz.; Paul, Dalton; Anthony, Nuangola; and Ralph, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Donna Williams and her husband, Douglas, Wilkes-Barre; and Christine DeLuca, Forty-Fort; grandchildren, Heather and Victor DeLuca, Danielle Arienzo, Deanna Williams, Kim DeLuca and Dawn Jarvis; great-granddaughter, Aleena DeLuca; sister, Candy Packett and her husband, Jack, Lakeland, Fla.; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Anthony; and sisters, Angie Wetterau and Carmella Lee.

Funeral services and interment with military honors will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the chapel at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Arrangements are by the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
