William F. Walsh

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

William F. Walsh, Scranton, died Saturday at Allied Skilled Services. He was the widower of Donna Marie Williams Walsh, who died April 25, 2012.

A lifelong Scranton resident, son of the late Joseph and Alice Jordan Walsh, he served his country by enlisting in the Army in 1953 and fighting in the Korean War. William then re-enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1959, and finally joined the Navy in 1962, where he was stationed aboard the USS Newport News CA-148. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW Post 5209.

William enjoyed driving cross-country, and could always be found washing and waxing his collection of cars. He was quick to help others, and always had a smile and joke, which would brighten up anyone's day. To the world, you may have been a somebody, but to us you were the world. Thank you for the time you spent on Earth. You made it better for all of us.

The family would like to thank the staff at Allied for their wonderful care.

Surviving are a brother, Gerard and wife, Mary Ann, Scranton; nephews, Edward, Scranton; and Luke, Scranton; and a niece, Judy, Dallas.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Edward and John.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home, 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton.
