Charles Raymond Coggins Marysville Charles Raymond Coggins, 84, of Marysville, left this world on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Chuck leaves behind his wife, Carol; his children, Sherri Volk, Dawn (Paul) Mosteller, Charles "Mike" (Kim) Coggins and Lora (Bruce) McFadden; and five grandchildren, Charles Coggins III, Brian Volk, Kyle Coggins, Bruce McFadden and Danielle McFadden. Chuck recently smiled and said he's had a great life. He spent four years serving his country in the U.S. Navy. His main profession was carpentry, spending 20+ years supervising the construction of many commercial buildings. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #1067 and a union trustee for 16 years. He was a member of Maryville American Legion Post #449, was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards at the Legion, woodworking, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was a longtime member of the Marysville Golf Course, the Moonshooter's Club and was a starter at the club for 25 years. Chuck enjoyed many years playing baseball as a pitcher. He taught Sunday School and took his classes on many special outdoor activities. He and Carol spent 25 years wintering in Arizona. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted at 4 p.m. under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. Chuck's long time wish has been followed to donate his body to science.
