Frank Michael LeTarte Pentwater Frank Michael LeTarte was born in Detroit in 1926. He graduated from Annunciation High School in 1944, and then served in the U.S. Navy. After his naval service, he became a Detroit City Firefighter. He, his father, and his brothers owned a tool and die shop, and later expanded into the manufacturing of aluminum storm doors and windows. Frank had a lifelong interest in flying and had a single engine pilot license since 1959. He was elected to serve on the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners in 1977-78. In the early 1980's, Frank became a licensed real estate assessor. He was Oceana County's Equalization Director from 1984 until his retirement in 1991. Afterward, he worked as an assessor for the City of Hart and as an appraiser for private clients. Frank married Beulah June Gibbons McDonough, also of Detroit, MI, in 1949. They were married for 58 years, until her death in 2007. He is survived by ten of their children: Rev. John McDonough, Fountain Hills, AZ; Lynn Ann Dazer, Harrison Township, MI; Elaine LeTarte, Pentwater MI; Paul LeTarte, Royal Oak, MI; Gene (Christine) LeTarte, Wales, MI; June (Roy) LeTarte Price, Keizer OR; Celia (Robert) Erickson, Tempe, AZ; Phillis (Christopher) Hynes, Gordonsville VA; Joseph LeTarte, Salem OR; and Michelle LeTarte, Los Angeles CA; and by 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters, Phillis (Howard) Ring and Florence (William) Remski. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Ann (Howard) Bland, two infant daughters, his grandson James Erickson, his daughter-in-law Denyse (Paul) LeTarte, and his three brothers, George LeTarte, Edward (Pauline) LeTarte, and Walter (June) LeTarte. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Pentwater, MI. The visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the King Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
