Frederick J. "Jim" Schlinkert Marysville Frederick J. "Jim" Schlinkert, 81, of Marysville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was born October 7, 1931 in St. Clair to the late Frederick J. and Irene Schlinkert. He married Dorothy Redmann on September 5, 1953 in New London, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2010. Mr. Schlinkert was employed with Detroit Edison prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jim was a long time member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Christopher Catholic Church. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and fixing things around the house. He is survived by four children, James Schlinkert, Carlena Schlinkert, Susan McGlynn and Madonna (Michael) Lukitsch; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Amber, Ava and Sophia. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Schlinkert; and sisters, Elizabeth Shinske, Harriet Moore, Shirley Hayward and Irene "Pat" Fuller. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home with Military Honors provided by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Schlinkert will lie in state at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Arthur Baranowski will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, St. Clair. Memorials may be directed to St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
