Gary W. "Lefty" Macker age 67 of Brown City formally of Detroit died August 4, 2014. He was born in Detroit, October 13, 1946 to William and Marie Macker. He graduated from Osborn High School and then completed a degree in engineering. Gary married Sharron Ignasiak.
He was retired after 32 years as a design engineer at the General Motors Tech Center. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in Warren. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and his hobby was farming.
He is survived by 2 sons, Paul (Julie) Macker, Capac and Bryan (Mary) Macker, Marysville; 5 grandchildren, Katy, Sarah (Andrew), Sydney, Michael, Nathan; and a great-grandson, Benjamin. Also surviving are 2 brothers Ronald and William and 2 sisters Cheryl and Sue.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sharron, his parents William and Marie Macker and three of his brothers Edward, Mark and Matthew
A visitation will be at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City on Saturday August 9, 2014 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. with the memorial service at 5:00 p.m.
