Joseph Leo Gleason Emmett Township Joseph Leo Gleason, 74, of Emmett Township, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc. He was born March 4, 1939 in Yale the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Butler Gleason. Joseph was a 1957 Yale High School graduate and had been a lifelong area farmer. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett and a member of the Emmett Knights of Columbus. Joseph was the owner of the Emmett Elevator Company from 1985 to 1993. He was a volunteer fireman for the Emmett Fire Department for 40 years. Surviving are four brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Lorraine of Ray Township, Patrick and Margaret of Attica, John and Sue of Attica and Ray and Vickie Gleason of Emmett, sister, Rose Trickel of Austin, TX and brother-in-law, James O'Leary, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. His sister Rita O'Leary preceded him in death in 2007. His family honors the memory of Joseph and invite you to visit and share Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Emmett, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund, pastor, will officiate. Emmett Fire Department service will be 6:30 p.m. followed by the Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt.
