Louis P. Cervone, age 92, a resident of Lexington passed away on Thursday March 27, 2014 in Cape Coral, Florida.
He was born on February 11, 1922 in Detroit a son of the late John and Immaculata Cervone. Lou was truly from the greatest generation-he lived through the Great Depression, was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a skilled tradesman at Chrysler for 49 years. He also was a security guard and personal chauffeur for Mrs. Eleanor Ford of the Henry Ford Estate for 22 years.
Lou was most proud of his family and faith, he attended St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington. He enjoyed his summers in Lexington and winters in Cape Coral, Florida. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife beloved wife of 62 years Frances Cervone of Lexington, six children Louis, Gary (Zora), John (Karen), Geralyn (Matt) Pewarchie, Gerard and Jeffrey. 12 Grandchidlren and 1 great grandson. Two sisters Elizabeth and Theresa.
Lou was preceded in death by a son Michael Cervone on October 5, 2008. Also preceded in death by two brothers Art and Pete Cervone.
Visitation will be from 2-9 P.M. on Thursday and 9:30-10:30 Friday morning at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral Mass 11 A.M. on Friday at Ave Maria Parish-St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites by the Croswell American Legion Post #255.
