Peter Paul Anter Peter Paul Anter, 89, passed away Feb. 6, 2013. Peter was born in Lebanon in 1923. He was raised on Detroit's east side and graduated Pershing High School class of '42, before joining the United States Army during World War II where he served in the Pacific theater during the U.S. liberation of the Solomon Islands and the Philippines. Upon returning home, he worked in a family grocery store before joining the Chrysler workforce during the 1950's while taking courses at Radio Electronics Television School in Detroit. As an electronics technician, he was best known as 'Mr. Pete', owner of Pete's Electronics, a business he owned on East Jefferson until he retired in 1999. He was active in the St. Maron Church bowling league for over 20 years. Peter and his family moved to Grosse Pointe Farms over 50 years ago. Mr. Anter contributed to various charities in the community including Mother Waddles Perpetual Mission and Services for Older Citizens (SOC). Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret, and loving children; Sharon Ford, Mark (Nancy), Allan of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Julie Ann Wood (Ronald) of Apex, North Carolina, Paul (Rita) of Grosse Ile, Michigan. Peter has seven loving grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Lisa, Cory, Anna, Thomas and Julia and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Sadie Salloum of St. Clair Shores. He was proceeded in death by eldest son, Lawrence, sister Julia Housey, and brothers, George and Michael. Visitation from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Feb. 8. Chas Verheyden Funeral Home, 16300 Mack Avenue, Grosse Pointe, MI. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maron Catholic Church, 11466 Kerchavel Avenue, Detroit at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 with a mercy luncheon following Mass.
