Stanley Plonka, age 98, a resident of Lexington passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Thursday morning May 8, 2014.
He was born on May 5, 1916 in Detroit a son of the late Ignatius and Mary (Miagza) Plonka. Stanley married Alice Makarewicz on June 18, 1938 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Hamtramck. She preceded him in death on May 3, 1980. He was also preceded in death by his oldest son Robert S. Plonka on April 10, 2007. Stanley later married Mary Stephanka.
Stanley was a pattern maker with General Motors for 25 years.
He is survived by a daughter Suzanne Plonka of Lexington; a son Dr. Randy Plonka of Fort Gratiot; 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granchild; and a brother Edmund (Barbara) Plonka of Chicago.

Visitation will be from 9 A.M. -11:30 A.M. Monday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral Mass 12 Noon on Monday at Ave Maria Parish-St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington.
Interment will be in the Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester.
