Tim A. McConnell, 75, died unexpectedly, September 26, 2013. He was born April 26, 1938 in Detroit to the late Thomas & Isabelle (Greer) McConnell. Tim served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He married Judy Spalding on October 11, 1958 in Detroit. Mr. McConnell worked for Chrysler and Williams Refrigeration. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was proud of his 25 years of sobriety and was a mentor to young people who had travelled down the same path. He also enjoyed photography and his family remembers fondly his white beard and rosy cheeks and him dressing up as Santa for the holidays.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; children, Steven (Norma) of Marine City, Edward (Barbara) of Sterling Heights, Thomas (Tabatha) of Marine City, Tim (Jamie) of Casco, Michael of Sterling Heights and Patty (Brandon Smith) of Marine City; twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a half sister, Debbie Rittenhouse and half brother, Jack and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher P. McConnell on April 6, 2011.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross. Father Stephen Rooney will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-8:00pm Monday in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City and from 11:00 am until the time of mass in church.
