Russell A. Mitchell

Kimball Twp.

 73, of Kimball Twp., passed away on Wednesday June 5th, 2013.

Russell was very well known and respected, working with many public services in the St. Clair County and Macomb County area.

He was employed in 1973 with Cable TV in Port Huron, later becoming the Chief Engineer of Harron Cable in 1979.  He retired from Comcast after 34 years of service, in the Cable TV industry for the Port Huron and New Haven areas.  He was active in Kimball Twp. Fire Department for 10+years.  He was also a 32nd degree Mason at the Smiths Creek Lodge.

He was born on March 22, 1940 the only child of the late Russell W. and Vivian Mitchell.  He grew up in Algonac, graduated from Algonac High School. Russell loved boating and fishing since he was 4 years old, when he got his first boat from his parent.  He joined the Air Force in 1959, and was stationed in Florida.

He had just celebrated his 50th anniversary with wife Deanna Mitchell, who he knew only 6 week before marriage. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Mitchell and Yvonne Mitchell; a granddaughter, Regina Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Mitchell Wardle.

Per his request cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Cremation arrangements by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, Port Huron.

In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
