Alban Cleveland "ac" Bush Jr. Obituary
Alban Cleveland "AC" Bush, Jr.

"Papa B" peacefully went to join our Heavenly Father Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Originally born, raised and lived the majority of his life in Bogalusa. He has resided the past six years here in Alexandria at Mathews Memorial and Regency Nursing Homes.

"AC" was born July 8, 1923 as the fifth of nine children to Alban, Sr. and Lonnie Elizabeth. After a very accomplished athletic career in high school he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 and received numerous decorations for heroics while fighting in the Pacific Theater in WWII. After returning home he married Dorothy Elizabeth Adams and together they enjoyed sixty-six years together. They raised eight children, all who went on to receive college degrees, while he worked in the Bogalusa Paper Mill. "AC" was very active in his church as well as the Knights of Columbus. He coached his children in multiple sports and supported their many activities. He retired from the mill after sustaining injuries from trying to save a coworker in a time of significant danger.

For "Papa B" family always came first.

Those left to cherish his memories include his eight children: Merrilyn Norem (Rick), Ann Eggert (Jerry), Mary Paduda (Mick), Paula Winger (Lloyd), Debbie Thomas (Rufus), Kathi Adams (Buddy), Alban Bush (Karen), and Jeff Bush (Meredith); twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Annunciation Catholic Church, Bogalusa. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church starting at 9:00 a.m.; with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic School @ 420 21st St. Alexandria, La 71301 OR to Annunciation Catholic School @ 511 Avenue C, Bogalusa, LA 70427.
