Buddy Ashmore, Jr.

Funeral services for Buddy Ashmore, Jr. will be held at 2 pm, Friday, May 9, 2014 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Brother Jeff James and Brother Joe Sharp officiating. Committal services will follow in the Occupy #1 Baptist Cemetery in Pitkin under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Buddy 85 of Pitkin, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Oakdale. He was born February 4, 1929, to the union of Spencer Ashmore and Lillie Mae Thompson Ashmore. He served in the United States Navy. He retired from Folk Polk as a tank mechanic. Buddy was a loving brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Those that precede him in death are his parents: Spencer Ashmore and Lillie Mae Ashmore, his wife: Lonie Ashmore, two daughters: Anita Ashmore Ward, and Brenda Gayle Ashmore, one son: Robert Ashmore; and two sisters, Mildred Smith and Sharon Bookout.

Those left to cherish his memory is his loving family, four brothers, Russell

Ashmore, wife Maria of Tioga, Charles Ashmore, wife Vickie of Pineville, Julius Ashmore, wife Carolyn of Bentley, and James Ashmore, wife Inita of Colfax; two sisters, Elaine Ryan of Libuse and Billie VonDran of Greer, South Carolina; two grandsons, Charles Ward, wife Kimberly of Lecompte and Mark Ward, wife Dale of Denham Springs; six great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Russell Ashmore, Charles Ashmore, Julius Ashmore, Mark Ward, Charles Ward, and Chuck Ward.

Friends may call Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., then on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9 a.m. until time of service in the chapel.
