A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Carl Perschy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Rickey Gremillion and Rev. August Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 and again from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the funeral home.

Carl A. Perschy, 74, of Alexandria passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, August and Regina; son, Pete Perschy and brother, Joseph Perschy.

Carl was a mail carrier for the United State Post Office for 28 years and delivered mail by foot and vehicle. He proudly served in the Air force for 4 years. Carl loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to turkey season every year. Carl was one of the few certified trappers within the State of Louisiana and loved to trap beaver and otter. Carl was a member at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Carl volunteered at the VA, Maryhill and the Diocese of Alexandria. Carl will always be "Pop" to his children, "Pe-Paw" to his grandchildren and "Bullet" to his post office buddies.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years, Mary Thiels Perschy; son, Lewis A. Perschy and wife Jessica; two daughters, Cathy Penn and Sandy Marak; one sister, Veronica Riley; one niece, Lori Lombard; one nephew, Michael Riley; one sister-n-law, Ruthie Perschy and two brothers-n-law, Charles Thiels and wife, Janet and Robert Thiels and wife, Louise; two grandchildren, Emma and Daisy Perschy along with numerous extended nieces and nephews.

The Perschy family would like to thank the Staff of Rapides Regional Medical Center, especially Dr. Ashby and Leila - 3rd Floor ICU. Dear friends Clifford and Naomi West, David LaCaze and Micky Flynn and special friend Derrick Vance.
