Charles was many things to many people throughout his life. He was a loyal son and brother, a devoted husband, father and friend, but, first and foremost, he was a dedicated child of God. He was a man that knew what hard work was from the time that he was a young boy getting the cane syrup cooking before he left for school and checking the watermelon crop for proper ripeness. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Charles worked for and retired from the Louisiana Forestry Service but his working days were far from over. His tractor and lawn mower, hoes and rakes were seldom left idle. He spent many pleasant days with family and friends fishing, hunting, and gardening and he and his wife Minnie always sharing their bounty with neighbors and friends.
Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years, Minnie Horn Bryant, daughter, Becky (Tony), son, Will (Alice), grandchildren, Jody Lavespere (Tina), Hope Deen, Tony Lavespere, III (Chasity), and Emily Bryant (Efren), and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Ollie Bryant, brothers Loyd, and Adrian, and sister Ila Jones.
Pallbearers will be Steve Jackson, James Robert Jones, Jody Lavespere, Tony Lavespere, III, Larry Bryant, and Mason Deen. Honorary pallbearers are Bubba Perry, Clyde Davidson, Jerry Ganey, David and Paul Jackson, Sonny Seward, and Dr. Jeffrey Seiles.
