Services for Clennon Ray Francis will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Bro. Anthony Mangun officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Clennon Ray Francis (Red), 81, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Grace Home.
Red was born October 12, 1932 in Longleaf, Louisiana to Cazzy and Isabelle Francis. Red was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an exceptional friend to many! He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was employed for 42 years in the life insurance field, starting as an agent with National Life and Accident Insurance. He retired as a regional Vice President with American General Life and Accident Insurance. Red served in the
Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Civitans and the Life Underwriters Association, serving as past president of both. Red was also an active member of the Free Masons Lodge Number 356 of Glenmora.
Red is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James N. Francis; three sisters, Pinkie Stephens, LaVert Monroe, and Dorothy Chellette.
Red is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lena R. Francis; three sons, Steen Francis (Rebecca) of Shreveport, Scott Francis (Denise) of Alexandria, Kevin Francis of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Ginger Kinsey (Chris) of Tyler Texas and Karen Turrentine (Wes) of Alexandria; one brother, Louis Francis (Ruth) of Lake Charles; two sisters, Betty McRight of Alexandria and Marie Pringle of Little Rock, Arkansas; nine grandchildren: Sean (Julie ), James (Shauna) and Laura Adams, Mary and Douglas Kinsey, Addie and Maddie Francis, and Will and Clint Turrentine, and 3 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers honored to serve are James Adams, Sean Adams, Gary Chambley, Mark Thompson, Wes Turrentine, Chris Kinsey, Greg McRight, and Terry Adkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Brashier, Joe Morgan, Lenny Robichaux, Albert Jeansonne, Denver Finley, Foy Scroggins, Stan Hymel, Don Brocato, Allen Kaufmann, Warren Moreau, and Herb Orgeron.
Special thanks to Dr. Gerald Foret, Dr. Bruce Barton, and Dr. Kelly Letsinger, the Cabrini Home hospice nurses and assistants, Grace Home staff, and to his sitter of two years, Tiwanna Jones.
