James Owen Holston

Services celebrating the life of James Owen Holston will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverend Anthony Mangun, officiating. Burial will be at Bay Spring Cemetery, Chopin, Louisiana, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville .

Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2012, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria , from 11:00 a.m. until time of Service.

James Holston, 62, of Dry Prong, passed from this life on December 6, 2012, at his residence.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Medal. During his working career he worked as a guard for the Louisiana Department of Corrections at Angola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram "Sonny" and Dorothy Bradley Holston.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of thirty-eight years, Margaret Johnson Holston; daughters, Bridget Holston Powell and husband Jeff of Kolin, Jammi Holston of Pineville; brother, Hiram "Buddy" Holston, III of Alexandria; grandchildren, Dallas Powell, Memphis Powell, Lincoln Powell and Rome Powell.

Pallbearers will be Joe Knight, Kent Clark, Pete Messina, Chris Walker, Dale Powel, Eric Roberson and Henry Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Johnson, Robert Wagner, Tommy Roberson and John Vanasselberg.
