James Stephen Shapkoff III (Jimbo)

James Stephen Shapkoff, III (Jimbo), 48 passed away on October 18th in Harker Heights, TX. He was born on January 8, 1965, to Jim and Jody Shapkoff of Leesville.

Jimbo was raised in Leesville. He was a 1983 graduate of Leesville High School where he was an outstanding linebacker for his beloved Wampus Cats. At L.H.S., he was selected as Mr. L.H.S. and was active in all aspects of his school. After graduation, he played football at Delta State University and later enrolled at LSU. He attended Northwestern University where he received his degree in business.

Jimbo always worked in his family businesses and for the past ten years, he was manager of Shapkoff Moving Services in Killeen, Texas.

To know Jimbo was to love him. He never met a stranger and showed love to his family and friends. He loved life and had a heart of gold. To have him for a friend a person was truly blessed.

He is survived by his parents, two brothers Jason Shapkoff and Tony and wife Lawna Shapkoff of Leesville; Sisters, Felicia Cavanaugh of Leesville and Jayda and husband Kris Pfaehler of West Columbia, SC. He is also survived by his precious nieces and nephew Cortney and Jessica Cavanaugh, Kirstin Pfaehler, Katelyn and Noah Shapkoff and Bella Shapkoff.

Jimbo was preceded in death by his grandparents James, Sr. and Victoria Shapkoff and Andy and Christine Anders.

Pallbearers will be Joe Baldwin, Trey Lewis, Robert Pynes, Jr. Ronald Williams, Mark Koury, Matt Koury and honorary pallbearer Noah Shapkoff.

Visitation will be held at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, Tuesday October 22nd, from 5 to 9 pm with a rosary at 7pm. The funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville, Wednesday, Oct 23rd. The Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville.
