Funeral services for Jerry Ray Barron, I will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie with Rev. Charlie Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Griffin Hill Cemetery in Lone Pine under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Barron, age 80, of St. Landry, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014 in his residence. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Dupont Chemical and Mobil Oil Company. He was a Mason and a member of the Nederland Lodge # 1368, a member of the Port Arthur Antique Car Club and the Nederland Motorcycle Club. His hobby was restoring antique cars. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Rowena Barron; sister, Betty Lee; brother, James Barron and grandson, Alex Barron.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Ortego Barron of St. Landry; two sons, Jerry R. Barron, II and wife, DuangJai, of Bangkok, Thailand and Scotty Barron of St. Landry; one daughter, Christina Foreman and husband, John, of St. Landry; one sister, Carolyn Williams and husband, Ray, of Pineville; three grandchildren, Jenny Foreman, Katie Chadrick and Brandi Barron and four great grandchildren Tristan Seaman, Emma Seaman, Tinley Seamon and Paxton Chadrick.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scotty Barron, Jerry Barron, John Foreman, Peter Socia, Chuck Socia and David Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Maxie Johnson and James Ortego.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 9 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
