Joe M. Holloway, Sr.

Services for Mr. Joe M. Holloway, Sr. 81, of Harrisonburg, LA will be 10 AM Monday, April 14, 2013 at Bird's Creek Baptist Church Harrisonburg, LA with Rev. Reid Terry and Bro. Robert Bradley officiating with interment to follow in Spring Ridge Cemetery-Aimwell, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Jonesville, LA.

Mr. Holloway was a member, Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent at Bird's Creek Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict on the USS Hancock Aircraft Carrier. He graduated from Pioneer High School in Chickasha, OK. Mr. Joe was a superintendent of Harrisonburg utilities as well as serving as an Alderman for 25 years, he was retired from Terry Inc. after working for many years. He loved to Garden, hunt and most of all he loved his family, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph L. Holloway and Myrtle L. Holloway, and a sister Ruby Mae Watkins.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Bettye Jean Allbritton Holloway Harrisonburg, LA three sons, Joe Morgan Holloway, Charles Mark Holloway and Tracy Ken Holloway and his wife Robbie all of Harrisonburg, LA, brother Lester B. Holloway and his wife DeEtta of Stillwater, OK, two sisters, Pearl Todd of Tulsa, OK, and Vera Meeks of Moore, OK, grandchildren, Brent Wiggins, Erin Holloway, Chad Holloway and his wife Joni, Sommer Simmons and her husband D.J., Justin Holloway and his wife Whitney and Jacob Holloway, great grandchildren Triston Portlock, Aiden Portlock and Grant Simmons, as well as five nieces and 4 nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chad Holloway, Justin Holloway, Jacob Holloway, Brent Wiggins, D. J. Simmons and Gary Ridenoure.

Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Sunday and 9 AM until service time at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons and Birds Creek Baptist Church
