John Edwin Hatchett, Jr.

A Memorial Service for John Edwin Hatchett, Jr. will at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the chapel of John Kramer and Son with Rev. Fred Tinsley officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son.

John Edwin Hatchett, Jr. 85, of Alexandria passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Lexington House Nursing Home.

John was preceded in death by his parents: John Edwin and Bama K. Chaney; 4 sisters, Modena Allen, Beth Perez, Helen Simpson and Farice Smith.

John grew up in Texas and played offensive lineman for Texas Tech. John served as a master sergeant in the United States Air Force for 4 years, 3 of which were spent in Germany during the Korean War. John married, his high school sweetheart, Mrs. Patsy Tapp Hester Hatchett. John owned and operated Decal Application Systems in Houston, Texas. John retired to Alexandria, La and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He had a great sense of humor, an appetite for life, and his kindness will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Those left to cherish John's memory include his wife, Patsy Tapp Hester Hatchett; his children from his first marriage; daughter, Diane Thompson and her husband, Joe, their son Trevor Thompson. His son Todd Hatchett and his children Keely Hatchett and Jaxon Hatchett. John is also survived by: Henry Hester and his children, Jordyn, Jodi and Dylan; Harold and Roxanne Lee and their children, Jon Lee, Sarah Senette, Emily Perkins; Jay and Liz Jolly and their children, James Jolly and Lee Margaret Gobel.
