Lonnie "Waymon" Creed

Services celebrating the life of Lonnie "Waymon" Creed will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Hebron Baptist Church, Dry Prong with Reverends Richard "Dick" DeBusk, Travis Sanders and Lloyd Whitman officiating. Burial will follow at Dry Prong Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

The family asks that visitation be observed Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Church from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resume Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Creed, 79, of Dry Prong, passed from this life on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Veteran's Affair Medical Center.

Waymon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. During his working career, he worked for several local dealerships as an auto mechanic. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Audesta "Des" Foster Creed and a sister, Frances Louise Creed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, LaWeda Newton Creed; daughters, Martha Creed Arrington and husband, Donny; Amanda Creed Price and husband, John; step-daughter, Cindy Bullitt and husband, Benny; step-son, Kelvin Sandifer; brother, Arthur M. "Peanut" Creed; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
