Funeral services for Randle "R.B." Holloway will be held at 10 am, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Amiable Baptist Church in Glenmora with the Reverend Donald Lee Willis, and Reverend John Rayburn officiating. Committal services will follow in the Amiable Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
"R.B." Holloway, 75, of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in his residence with his family and friends by his side. He was born on April 13, 1938 in Forest Hill to the union of Ibrey and Arline Butter Holloway. He was a member of the Amiable Baptist Church. He was a Retired United States Naval Veteran, with 20 years of service. He was also a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. He was one of the founding members of the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department and served as a volunteer fireman for 26 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Ibrey and Arline Butter Holloway, and sister, Wanda Tullar.
He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, wife of 56 years Mary Nesom Holloway of Glenmora; three daughters, Karen Faye Monroe, Sandra Gail, and Robin Rene Holloway all of Glenmora; two brothers, Glen Holloway of Gardner, and Clifford Holloway of Forest Hill; two sisters, Carol Lamkin of Forest Hill, and Pamela June Fender of Lake Charles; three grandchildren April Monroe, Gavin Wells, and Amanda Russell; one great grandson Kenneth Lambright Jr; three step great grandchildren Dallas Russell, Cynthia Russell, and Karlee Russell;
Pallbearers to serve will be the Spring Creek Fire Department, Darrell Rollins, Dorothy Wells, James Irvine III, James Irvine Jr., Tommy Burns, Teresa Yancy; two honorary pallbearers, Gavin Wells, and Kenneth Lambright Jr.
Visitation will be today Friday, September 13, 2013 from 5 pm until 10 pm in the Amiable Baptist Church, and Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 8 am until 10 am for services in the church sanctuary.
