Memorial services for Mr. Richard S. Coleman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church, Alexandria, Louisiana with Rev. Tracy Mackenzie officiating, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Coleman, age 89, of Boyce, entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Grace Home in Alexandria.

He was a resident of Alexandria, Louisiana, formerly of Slidell. He was a native of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran where he was a pharmacist mate in WWII and the Korean War. He was a licensed Mortician and Funeral Director for 36 years; having retired from Schoen Funeral Home, New Orleans. He was a member of Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church of Alexandria.

He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Elvida Coleman; parents, Arthur and Anna Coleman; two sisters, Miriam Jones and Mildred Leeper; step-daughter, Leslie Corvers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Betty Coleman of Boyce; two sons, Randall Coleman of San Francisco, California and John Arthur "Jack" Coleman (MarJane) of Poplarville, Mississipi; one step-daughter, Lisa Terry (Marty Mixon) of Ball; three grandchildren, Heather Arrazate, Shawn Kimbal and Lacy Corvers; six great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church, Alexandria, on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Horseshoe Drive United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1600 Horseshoe Dr., Alexandria, Louisiana 71301 or Grace Home, 4801 Jackson St. Ext., Ste. B., Alexandria, Louisiana.
