W. K. "Dub" Deloach

Funeral services for Mr. W. K. "Dub" Deloach will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Effie with Reverend Carolyn Fletcher and Deacon L. G. Deloach officiating. Interment will follow at French Cemetery in Centerpoint. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. "Dub" Deloach, age 88, of Effie, LA entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 9, at Grace Home in Alexandria, LA surrounded by his family.

Dub was a graduate of Lafargue High School. He was a lifetime member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Effie, a 50 year member of the American Legion, a past member of the Cattleman Association, and a 66 year member of Marksville Masonic Lodge #269.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and watching grandkids participate in everything from baseball, 4-H, golf, and dance to theater.

He retired from Ratcliff Construction Company after 42 years as a General Superintendant. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

He served in the 78th Infantry Lightning Division during WWII where he received a Purple Heart, a Presidential Citation, and three Battle Stars for his service in the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly and Gertrude Woodson Deloach, brothers, L. G. and Rayburn Deloach, and sister, Elaine Dauzat.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 65 years, Jerry Deloach, brother, Allen Deloach (Patricia), sister, Lettie Rhea Michiels, sisters-in-law, Dale Deloach and Melda Deloach. He is also survived by six children, Wayne (Juanita), Lynn (Rose), Tommy (Donna), Randy (Kathy), Wendell (Rhonda), Kelvin (Ellen), 15 grandchildren, Denee Koonce (Will), Brock Deloach (Kelly), Megan Lazerone (Matt), Daniel Deloach, Jessica Dauzat (David), Ashley Bordelon (Ken), Courtney Watts (Michael ), Tammy McCartney (T. Bo ), Eric Deloach (Amber), Michael Deloach, (Darlene), Jennifer Stout, April Barr (Rick), Bryan Deloach, Hailey Weeks (Nick), Collin Deloach, and 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the funeral service will be his grandsons, honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital at 3100 Stamford Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103, , 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Ward One Community Foundation Veterans Memorial, P. O. Box 35, Effie, LA 71331.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville with a Masonic Funeral Rite to be held in the Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Effie on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service.
