Services for Winston R. "Wink" Watkins will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son, with Chaplain Clyde Grammon officiating. Interment will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday at John Kramer & Son.
Wink Watkins, age 88, of Alexandria, passed away April 7, 2013 in his residence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Watkins; former wife, Juanita Watkins; his parents; four sisters and four brothers.
He served in the United States Army/Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the 155th Night Photo Reconnaissance Squadron. After serving in the military he managed the Alexandria Mall Cinema and also opened Service Station Supply where he was owner/operator up until his retirement.
Some of Wink's many hobbies included gardening and hunting. He was an avid Alabama football fan-ROLL TIDE!
Those left to cherish his memory include: two daughters, Dana Edwards of New York and Kim Bacon and husband, Robert of Grand Prairie, Texas; one grandson, Trevor Edwards of Alexandria; one step son, Scooby Arnold and his wife Jackie and two step daughters, Patricia Iles and husband, Frankie and Brenda Iles all of Pineville.
