Sheryl (Caswell) Smith, beloved wife of Anderson T. Smith, of Pawcatuck, passed away Jan. 1, 2008, at The Westerly Hospital after complications due to breast cancer.

Born Nov. 17, 1949, in New London, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Anna (Cerasoli) and Albert Caswell Sr.
Sherry was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Hugo Simonelli Post #3263, the Mystic Seaport and the Groton Lodge of Elks.
Sherry is survived by her son, James Gueltzow Jr. and his wife, Emily, of Westerly; two sisters, Lynette Parkinson and her husband, Doug, of Pawcatuck, and Bonnie Kessler and her husband, Kevin, of Kansas; two brothers, Albert Caswell Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Groton, and Christopher Caswell of Southington; two nieces, Samantha Parkinson of Pawcatuck and Amanda Pugh and her husband, Lee, of Kansas; a great-niece, Arianna Marie Gallo of Pawcatuck; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Sherry's life will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
