Gerald "Jerry" Capps Born in St. Louis, Missouri September 21, 1951, Jerry passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2014 at the age of 62. He graduated from DeSoto High School in Missouri in 1969 and Humboldt State University in 1998 as an RN. Jerry served in the U.S. Army and was an advocate for many veterans. Jerry is survived by his wife of 32 years Gloria, sons Joey and Tyler (Sera), and many loving family members and friends, including 3 brothers, a sister and their families. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and especially loved spending time with his family. He was a very proud Dad and let everyone know it. He could make conversation with anyone, and often sparked conversations with complete strangers. He loved children and always took an opportunity to interact with them. He was known for his great bear hugs and his willingness to lend a hand. He always worked hard, and took pride in doing his work well. He worked for 20 years in construction before becoming a Registered Nurse. He spent the next part of his career working as a nurse in various prisons in California before retiring. He will be deeply missed by the people who knew him. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday August 30th at Azalea Hall, 1620 Pickett Road, McKinleyville, CA. 95519 12-2 pm.
