NORTH HERO - The service to honor and celebrate the life of Clarence F. "Bish" Bishop, of Blockhouse Point Road and a Barre native, was held Thursday, July 3, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. He died June 27, 2014, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

The Rev. David Vanderlinde-Abernathy, pastor of the Barre Congregational Church, conducted the service and led the congregation in the hymn, "Amazing Grace."

Longtime friend and hunting and fishing "Buddy" William Coates offered humorous words of remembrance of some of their trips.

Interment was made in the West Barnet Cemetery, where the Rev. Vanderlinde-Abernathy offered the committal prayers.

The folded American flag to honor Bish's Navy service during World War II was presented to his daughter, Susan Bishop Lawrence, by Bruce W. Judd of Barre American Legion Post 10.
