James Csotty Obituary
Born June 28th, 1928, to Andrew Csotty and Catherine Knoll of Cleveland, Ohio. Jim graduated from Benedictine High School in Cleveland, and at age 18 enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for two years. On October 29th, 1949, he married Marianne Kirby. In 1972, Jim and Marianne moved to Longmont with their five children. The couple joined the community of St. John the Baptist Church, where Jim served for several years as a Eucharistic Minister, and remained active in the church community throughout his life. During his earlier years in Colorado, Jim worked at various machine and welding shops. He eventually settled into work at the Colorado University (Jila Hall) in Boulder where he worked as a scientific instrument maker, an expert in his field, until retirement. He was occasionally called out of retirement as a consultant, and remained always, a masterful tinkerer. Jim loved the outdoors, including rock collecting, hiking, sports and hunting. He instilled an appreciation of nature and all things living in his children and grandchildren. Jim's kindness, humor and gentle spirit will not be forgotten by the many people he touched. Also, among the things he will be remembered for is buying stores out of candy after holidays and donating it to the St John Food Bank and OUTREACH Center, where he was fondly referred to as "the candy man". Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Edward Csotty, son Jerry 'JC' Csotty, and grandson Jerome 'J' Csotty. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marianne, sister, Mary Ann Rakoczi, sons Marty Csotty and Joel (Elizabeth)Csotty, daughters, Anne (RIck Banduh) and Terri Woodworth (Damon Drake).Grandchildren, Conan Csotty, Jessi Woodworth (Mitch Taylor), Sara Woodworth (Chris Maes), Ian Woodworth, Carlos Palomo, Carely Palomo, Gabriela Csotty, Sydney Csotty, Joely Csotty.Great granddaughter Kaida Csotty.
